Sited to form a ‘gateway’ to the private lands, the house sits near the entry road on a steep site overlooking the sea.

This is the first building completed within the overall masterplan we designed for the Omarino development.

The house is split into two parallel forms running along the slope and stepping down, with crisp monopitch roofs folding down to form wall planes. Roofs and walls extend at each end to provide covered terraces and protective hoods minimising solar gain.

The walls of the house which extend across the road to define the entry are built of a unique concrete designed for the development, incorporating local aggregates to express the character of the locality.

Private houses designed by Bossley in the development include Fold House [LINK] and Parekura Bay House. [LINK]
